[-empyre-] why not shoot the messenger

The US army invented the internet as a medium of remote communication when
on ground. I can't help but think that the original intention for the
medium has limited its potential.

Why not shoot the messenger? The messenger does not satisfy my experiential
or creative needs. Nothing wrong with shooting the messenger then.

Or is it really the messenger I'm shooting or the postal service itself?

Think again. Many speak of immersive technological experience but the only
immersive experience (I'm thinking get in there and roll in it dirty
immersive) I have truly experienced is the experience of desire...where is
my newest version Flash, where is my newest version Photoshop, where is my
new anti-gravity MAC, where is my Pentium 10?

Another thought:

The machinery of medicine, pharmaceuticals. A doctor last week threw a
chair at a nurse out of frustration. The story isn't new, but doctors are
the same victims of "need that new technology now" mentality just like us
"artists" with the exception that we are not in the business of saving
lives.

And again, why not shoot the messenger, in this case, the messenger of life
saving techniques or are they really?

JA
